Darkest Before Dawn Radio Show – Relaunched on IBM Radio as Deep Dives w/ Matt Comer & tiny curations
Darkest Before Dawn Deep Dives w/ Matt Comer and tiny curations
Deep Dives w/ Matt Comer & tiny curations – started in the Spring of 2019, where I host a one hour episode spotlighting an artist or genre. This show features songs that rarely if ever get any airplay; these type of songs are typically known as Deep Cuts or Deep Tracks. The songs that you may not know unless you have really dug into an artist or band and listened to albums and a discography in its entirety. Rather than focusing on the hits that we all know and love, we will hear alternate recordings, rare recordings, live recordings, alternate takes, cover versions from other artists, along with vintage advertisements and interviews. Along with our own guest hosts and interviews. This is my favorite music and I am happy to curate this music for you! Please listen and I hope that you enjoy these songs as much as I do, so please join me and let’s go on a Deep Dive!
Also, please check out Antonio Banda and I’s Valentines Day show – “Valentine’s Day love songs that you didn’t know were actually stalker and creeper songs”.
Short attention span? Check out tiny curations! Where you can get the skinny on some great music in around 15 minutes. Come on, you’ve got the time!
tiny curations
This shows are distilled into only the very best and mostly rare tracks that represent an artist to me. Attention spans are short and so are these shows. We try to keep these shows to around 15 or so minutes. That might mean 2-4 songs, so hope you enjoy and thanks for listening!Like it a bit longer? Well check out a full artist spotlight and Deep Dive into the music with Deep Dives w/ Matt Comer!

Or have a short attention span, tiny curations is for you
Based out of Austin, Texas, near the hill country town of Cedar Valley, just short of Dripping Springs. Brought to you by your host Matthew Comer. Now featured on IBM Community Radio – ibmradio.net.
I am currently employed as a Project Manager with IBM, Marketing Services Center Community (MSC), becoming an IBMer in August of 2016. Interview of Matt Comer IBM Originals.
As of September 2017, I work on a great team in the IBM Blogs. This is an excited role, where we create and maintain our own custom WordPress theme and host 150 Blogs with over 10,000 users, 259 plugins, 1,309 pages, and 37,938 posts, with 1,607 new posts in the past 90 days and an average of 1.5 million Page Views per month.
My former role, of which I still oversee along with the Sales Essentials group, is with PartnerWorld Business Partner portal as a part of the IBM Services with the Marketing Content Services (formerly Marketing and Sales Content Services Organization, Digital Services Group, Offering Kit, Content Services, and Solution Gateway). Formerly, I worked as a contractor with Titan Solutions providing consulting for IBM, for 12.5 years.
I am doing some amazing work as an IBMer. I had built a system in which editors on the team can create and maintain HTML pages using an XML/XSL integrated WebSphere system. This allows the users to create pages much more easily. I enjoy the work, this is the best work of my career. This system is being sunset and we are migrating our systems to various internal CMS systems. I have taken on a new role of Content Manager for my growing team of India resources. I assign tasks and manage schedules on a daily basis.
Currently, I am also working on various stretch projects for the MSC. While studying for my PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® certification.
In 2019, I have joined an IBM PMI-ACP Study Group, to take an exam for my certification. Th MSC awarded me a prize to study towards a Certified ScrumMaster®l (CSM®) certification. I am one 3 different patent groups, one patent idea and hopefully get a patent certificate. While possibly migrating IBM Blogs from WordPress to Drupal. Maintaining future Drupal theme. Setting up a metrics based system. Began holding weekly Open Office Hours calls to support our WP Adopters. Re-start an old Thirsty Thursday bi-yearly Happy Hour group for old and new IBMers. Starting in April, DJ a monthly Deep Dives w/ Matt Comer show on IBM Community Radio; as well as a short attention span version, Tiny Curations, is also a new show. And attempt to get a promotion as my 3rd year as IBM approaches. And this year I was added to the IBM Originals with a little Meet the Originals interview.
Here is my Resume, if you want to learn anymore.
What I Do
In IBM Blogs, we now host about 115 WordPress Blogs and support over 12,000 Users (45,559 Registered Users) and more than 1.5 million total Page Views per month. The combined goes of these clients are to promote the IBM Brand and communicate their goals and positions for all to learn from and engage their clients. We manage the shared theme that they all use, with agile iteration deployments, we do this to help them solve their growing blog needs.
But I Am So Much More
I live in Austin the capital of Texas and the self proclaimed “Music Capital of the World” with my lovely wife Jenny and our two beautiful children: our son Garrett, and our daughter Grace
We enjoy being together as a family and with other family in the area. We like to try new food and go to our favorite restaurants. We enjoy travel and try to go to an exciting new place every year, as well as visiting existing favorite locations. I also enjoy pursuing passions such as photography. My wife and I love music and listen to Austin musicians and touring bands as much as we are able to now with the little ones. Volunteer work for South by Southwest Conference, Film Conference, Music Conference, and Interactive Festival (SXSW), Old Settlers Music Festival, Housecore Horror Film Festival, Other Worlds Austin SciFi Film Festival, and The SIMS Foundation, and the Hays County Chapter and the Dripping Springs Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, where I have served as Treasurer. I hold many different memberships, but one that I would like to highlight here is a local Rod Fishing Club, where I have served on many different Committees over the years, such as Second Vice President and Children’s Committee Chairman for over 7 years. And involved in several churches, let me know if you want me to marry you. As well as being involved in many different causes, some that were more successful than others. Oh, and I had a viral video (Nothing to see here, just a Twister over the water, that’s called a waterspout!)
Here is one of my favorites playlists on my Sansa® SanDisk Clip+ 8GB with expandable memory MP3 Player, via Last.fm.
